Aaron Schofield, Branch manager at First Interstate Bank, he has been with the First Interstate Bank for 8 years. He graduated in 1998 from JCC with AAS in Accounting and started his professional career at Carrols Corporation as General Manager. He serves on the Sunriver Chamber of Commerce as Board President. He has a great passion for helping build the community through business development and supports those efforts that help our community. Aaron is also Board treasurer for Upper Deschutes River Coalition. This organization focus its efforts on forest fire prevention in the county. Aaron and his wife Sarah support many of the community events and are involved with those efforts. Aaron and his family reside here in Sunriver and volunteer at various community events. Aaron is a New York native and moved to Central Oregon a little over 9 years ago.
I am a native Oregonian, born and raised on the East side of Portland. I graduated from U of O with a bachelor degree in Business administration and later received a master’s degree from Western Governors University. My business career brought me to Sunriver every summer for business conventions and family vacations.
After building a successful insurance brokerage and raising three sons, I sold my business interests and became a permanent Sunriver resident. At that time, I realized our larger unincorporated community was not united and did not have a single voice or independent organization that could bring the community together and address larger community issues. I became executive director in 2013 as a way to give back to our community and use my business experience to help build the Chamber to be a valuable asset for business and residents.
I look forward to continuing to work on implementing the Chamber’s vision into the future and I enjoy supporting and helping businesses grow and prosper.

Deschutes Public Library
1. I am in involved with the SR Area Chamber of Commerce because I want to promote awareness of the types and scope of services the Deschutes Public Library provides for residents and small business owners. I am eager to share how the library can help residents meet their literary and entertainment needs; and access information to grow their business, resolve an issue, answer a question, or participate in community decision-making.
2. I am eager to share my expertise in research, small business resources, and literature with Chamber members and the community in the following ways: through one-on-one research assistance such as Book-a-Librarian sessions, presentations, trainings, and reader’s advisory.
3. Other community projects I am involved with include: outreach on behalf of the Deschutes Public Library.

Carl Jansen is the President/Owner and Senior Recruiter for Search North America, a wood products focused search, recruiting and placement firm, based in the Sunriver area. He has over 41 years of experience in the wood products industry, seven in industrial engineering and operations planning capacities for two major forest products firms, and the past 34 years as a professional recruiter for wood products, engineering, and construction based client companies throughout North America. Carl graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Engineering and an MBA in Production Management from UC Berkeley. He has served in the US Air Force on the Minuteman Missile Launch Team at Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg AFB. Carl and his wife, Thelma, have lived in their home near Spring River for over 20 years, and have been vacationing regularly in the Sunriver area since the early 80’s. Carl has been a Sunriver Chamber Board member since 2014, and he is also on the board of Saint Vincent de Paul in La Pine.
I was elected to the Board of Directors for the Sunriver Area Chamber of Commerce in spring of 2015. It is wonderful to be involved with the Chamber as it gives me the opportunity to work with and provide answers/resources to business leaders, residents and tourists in the Sunriver area.
As the Assistant General Manager of Sunriver Owners Association, my knowledge in Board governance, community management and connections with key stakeholders in Sunriver enables me to elicit a strong voice in the overall business community marketplace. I bring 17+ years of recreational experience to the Sunriver Area Chamber, which in turn with effective brainstorming as a group, enables the Sunriver Area Chamber of Commerce to be a prominent resource for all end users (business owners, residents, non-residents and tourists).
In addition to being a past President of the Sunriver Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, I also sit on the Fundraising Committee for Bend Habitat for Humanity and have for four years. I am also a Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA designee) and a member of the Community Managers International Association (CMIA).
