Start a Business in Sunriver
Tourism
forms Sunriver’s economic base, with tens of thousands of people visiting the
area annually. Sunriver’s small town character is preserved by a wide variety of
small owner-operated businesses that serve visitors and residents. Businesses
are generally located in the Sunriver Village mall, the community’s retail and
commercial core, and in its Business Park, located just outside the main
entrance.
Since
Sunriver is an unincorporated community within Deschutes County, there are no
special licenses required to do business in Sunriver. Licensing might be
required by the County, however, depending on the type of business (a
restaurant, for example). There are also restrictions imposed by the Sunriver
Owners Association (SROA) on home-based businesses, especially if they generate
foot traffic at the home location. Contact SROA’s
community development department at 541-593-2411 for information.
